Litigation/Employment Associate Attorney

We have an open position for an Associate Attorney in civil litigation and/or employment law. We are seeking an Associate Attorney with experience handling discovery, interviewing witnesses, taking/defending depositions, handling motion work, making court appearances, participating in mediations and arbitrations, defending class action suits, and/or preparing for and participating in trials. We are also seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in counseling employers on employment practices and policies, conducting workplace investigations, and/or handling administrative claims.  Outstanding legal research and writing skills are required. You will have direct contact with clients. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $205,000 depending on your experience. Bonus program available.

Litigation Administrative Assistant

We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant with experience in civil litigation. Applicants shall be organized and detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, and able to prioritize while working for multiple attorneys. Applicants shall be well versed in document preparation, calendaring, client file maintenance (electronic and physical), court e-filings, governmental agency filings and/or recordings, and client communications. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe. The regular hourly rate for this position is $27 to $38 per hour, depending on your experience.

Chief Operating Officer

Job Description

We are a well-established and growing 20+ attorney firm seeking a full time Chief Operating  Officer to work directly with the firm’s shareholders and manage all business operations of the firm. This is an executive-level position for a Chief Operating Officer who will be responsible for a wide range of activities in all phases of administration, personnel, finances, facilities, and business systems. Significant hands-on systems management experience is required. Law firm experience and a Certified Business Manager or similar professional designation is preferred. The successful candidate will manage a team of more than 40 people.

Responsibilities

We need seeking a candidate with significant hands-on experience, sound judgment, and maturity to work with in our office with the shareholders and key team members in a manner that is consistent with our firm culture of respect, integrity, collegiality, and superior service to clients. The Chief Operating Officer must possess:

  • A thorough understanding of accounting and financial principles, including a solid understanding of general accounting procedures, financial management and analysis, tax and benefit issues, budgeting, and the ability to implement effective internal controls and collection and billing procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage staff and be responsible for compliance with employment laws, recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, performance appraisals, continuing education requirements, discipline and discharge, and employee relations.
  • Knowledge of law firm matters and the community in which we practice law, including professional liability, ethics, conflicts of interest, and reputation.
  • Technology and project management skills, including a solid understanding of the firm’s IT systems, software, hardware, and the ability to manage the firm’s equipment and systems.
  • Marketing skills and knowledge to guide the promotion of the firm.
  • Facilities management experience and ability to direct staff and communicate with outside parties to maintain the office facility.
  • Strategic planning skills, including the ability to identify areas for improvement and to provide and implement solutions.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organization and systems management, including leadership skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills (not conflict avoidance skills).

Education

At a minimum, the Chief Operating Officer will have a college degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in business administration or management, finance, human resources, technology, and/or marketing, or comparable work experience.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $185,000, commensurate with experience.
