Sara Boyns recently received the inaugural Tanya Antle Visionary Award from Girls, Inc. of the Central Coast for her exceptional community work. Sara also recently received the Lady Justice Lifetime Achievement Award from the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association, in recognition of her career-long commitment to legal advocacy and community service.
These accolades are a testament to Sara’s unwavering dedication to community service and the legal profession. We couldn’t be prouder of her achievements and the collective efforts of our entire team at Fenton & Keller.

2025 Gibson Award by the Monterey County Bar Association
We’re proud to share that attorney Sara Boyns has been honored with the 2025 Gibson Award by the Monterey County Bar Association — and recently featured in the Salinas Valley Business Journal for this well-deserved recognition.
Sara’s decades-long career has been defined by her dedication to inclusive legal practices, her mentorship of emerging attorneys, and her deep community service. As a co-founder of Fenton & Keller, she’s helped build sustainable careers in the law while giving back through nonprofits, workforce education, and leadership on countless boards — including Girls Inc., the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association, and the Monterey College of Law.
The Gibson Award celebrates attorneys who embody a spirit of distinguished community service — and no one exemplifies that more than Sara.

Christopher E. Panetta Receives the Lewis L. Fenton Award for Excellence in Advocacy
Fenton & Keller is pleased to announce that Christopher E. Panetta, a partner at the firm, has received the Lewis L. Fenton Award for Excellence in Advocacy from the Monterey County Bar Association. The prestigious award, presented during the Annual Holiday Luncheon at Pebble Beach on December 1, 2023, recognizes Chris’s outstanding contributions as a trial lawyer.
Reflecting on Lewis Fenton’s legacy, Charles (Chuck) Keller described him as a “lawyer’s lawyer” during the ceremony. Chuck emphasized Fenton’s commitment to integrity and civility, virtues integral to the legal profession. Chris echoed this sentiment in his remarks, emphasizing the importance of civility in the legal field.
Chris was acknowledged for his exceptional representation of clients in various forums, including courtrooms, arbitration, mediation, and state and federal administrative proceedings. The award also recognizes his dedication to community service, aligning with Lewis Fenton’s belief in giving back.
Established in 2005, the Lewis L. Fenton Award pays homage to the late Lewis Fenton, a respected figure in Monterey County’s legal community. Fenton & Keller takes pride in celebrating Chris Panetta’s achievement and his commitment to upholding the values exemplified by this esteemed award.
